Marc Krusin for Knoll Midcentury-Modern Inspired White Ash and Jute Arm Chair
Krusin for Knoll 2011 design delivers comfortable minimalism in an airy elegant package.
All structure and materials are in plain view with this skeletal, tightly wound exemplar of the dictum that less is more.
Solid white ash mortise-and-tenon frame holds fast and strong a sturdy frame composed of thoughtfully considered turns and curves supporting a buoyant seat of woven paper jute or rush with solid steam-bent top rail.
Architectural frame buffers with soft contours and paper seat all help to blend design with a craftsman sensibility yielding a disciplined design with relaxed feel.
Maximum comfort delivered with a minimum of mass yields an unobtrusive addition to any minimalist interior.
Krusin was included in the “Europe 40 under 40,” 2008 annual list of most promising and emerging design talent in Europe.
Krusin cofounded the design group Codice 31.
Krusin has subsequently developed other successful designs with Lissoni, Kartell, Flos and Knoll International.
